The BMR Laboratory is currently located in rented space that no longer fulfills the needs of the Bureau to accommodate additional staff and increased demand for services. This study considers two options for relocating the laboratory: reuse of existing state-owned space and new construction. Conceptual planning accommodates program needs for 90 staff; 50 to 120 visitors attending regular meetings, hearings, training classes and webinars; consolidation of storage; multi-level security; efficient adjacencies; regulatory requirements and NYS codes.
