Senior Laboratory Planner/Architect

Reports to: Principals and Directors
Works with: Project Managers, Project Architects, Lab Planners, Tech Support, Subject Matter Experts, Finance Personnel, Marketing Personnel and Principals
Location: Remote/local
Status: Full-Time; Permanent
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in design or science related field preferred

HERA is seeking a professional with 10 to 12 years of laboratory planning and design, to work remotely or in St. Louis, Bethesda, Atlanta, Philadelphia, or Tampa office locations. This is an exciting growth opportunity for an energetic, self-starter to work with scientific clients across the country. HERA works on challenging projects in a variety of laboratory environments, including academic, forensic, research and development, government, and clinical labs.

Roles and responsibilities include
• Laboratory planning & pre-design knowledge of specialty architectural environments
• Manages projects from initiation to closeout
• Develops team staffing for projects with managers in other HERA offices
• Use project reporting software
• Serve as a technical advisor in one or more of aforementioned markets
• Aptitude to lead discussions with clients in all phases of project development
• Delegate and oversee project deliverables
• Provide technical lab documentation oversight, and quality control (QC) reviews
• Participate in marketing campaigns, project interviews and fee and scope development

Experience and key qualifications include
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in the architectural field
• Registered architect, NCARB certification is desirable
• Broad experience in all phases of project development
• Excellent oral and written communication
• Strong project management, mentoring and supervisory skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects
• Proficient in Revit
• Other illustration and graphic tools are desired
• Experience with contract negotiations, implementation, and staffing desirable
• Proficiency in Microsoft products; experience with Deltek Vision is valuable
• Ability to travel nationally and potentially internationally
