HERA was initially commissioned to provide a master plan for the entire Reynolds Hall building. Phased options were investigated and weighed against available funding and the move management of the departments.
The final Phase 1 solution consolidates the Chemistry Department (general, organic, inorganic, biochemistry, analytical, advanced chemistry and instrumentation), Physics, and Geology on the upper floor and allows for the construction of a new microbiology suite and general biology suite on the first floor. The building houses both teaching and research laboratories and support spaces.
The first phase also addresses the client’s available construction budget and equipment allocation.
The envisioned Phase 2 renovation will complete the Reynolds Hall remodel project. A Phase 3 addition to the building will provide the required lecture spaces to support the anticipated student population growth.
“I have been doing construction at several different facilities for many years and I can honestly say that working with HERA was one of the most rewarding experiences I have had. They are truly professionals that are very knowledgeable and very proficient at what they do. They were a true pleasure to work with.”
