This project involved the complete interior renovation of four floors of a 5-story science building that was built in 1997. The project displaced, repurposed, relocated and enlarged existing classrooms, offices, and laboratories to accommodate 154 more biology and chemistry laboratory stations— a critical need of the college. Laboratories include biology, microbiology, physiology, botany/zoology, physics, and general flex labs. Other project highlights include:
“HERA brought sophisticated and specialized expertise to the redesign and renovation to the Giles Science Building project at Central Piedmont Community College. I found their contributions to be particularly helpful to our faculty as they brought a set of contemporary examples for how top institutions are utilizing and teaching within their science labs”
