This 4-story structure creates a new architectural gateway for the college. The facility houses general smart classrooms, computer labs, offices and allied health laboratories. The roughly 22,000-sf of laboratories address current and future program needs and simulate workplace conditions in health oriented careers.
An in-the-round Virtual Anatomy Suite, which hearkens back to early medical schools’ gross anatomy education, offers space for advanced 3D medical visualization. Supporting new programs, the Sonography and Polysomnography Labs provide a venue for clinical and didactic training.
The fourth floor is dedicated to interdisciplinary practice for both in and outpatient care settings, and will support biomedical equipment technology, cardiovascular technology, emergency medical science, health information technology, medical assisting, medical laboratory technology, nursing, respiratory therapy, pharmacy technology, surgical technology, ophthalmic medical assisting, occupational and physical therapy programs.
With various pharmacy, clinical laboratory, Home Suite, OR, Trauma, Med-Surgical, Exam and therapy spaces, the building also provides a venue for continuing education training.
“I would highly recommend HERA laboratory planners for any health related designs as they have knowledge and understanding across the disciplines and were great partners in the design process.”
