Criminal Evidence Headquarters

Envisioned to be the benchmark for crime evidence verification in Kuwait and the Gulf region, this new facility will be equipped with the newest technologies to further advance the performance of existing departments. It also extends the Crime Evidence Headquarters beyond its traditional role with a new National DNA Database Center that addresses challenges arising from Kuwait’s diverse population.
This large-scale, technically-complex forensic science center includes the following functional units: identification and fingerprint, computer crime, forensic photography, analytical chemistry, crime scene examination, latent comparison, arson and explosives, forgery and counterfeit, narcotics and tranquilizers, toxicology, firearms, toolmarks, trace, serology, alcohol, forensic biology/DNA, forensic medicine (Medical Examiner), histopathology, and autopsy.
Being located in one of the most extreme environments on the planet, the new building can boast several sustainable design features such as: building sited in the east-west direction; extensive use of sun shading and sun control devices; demand controlled ventilation; under floor air supply in office areas; chilled beam cooling in lab spaces; three-day, on-site storage of potable water; and use of reclaimed water for irrigation.
