Northeastern University breaks ground on Roux Institute

Today the Roux Institute at Northeastern University is one step closer to realizing their new campus, with a groundbreaking of the 245,000-sf Alfond Center. The new building is a learning, research and collaboration building housing wet labs, computation labs, research spaces and classrooms.

In addition, the new campus also will include a renovation of the “Bean” building, a former industrial site of B&M Baked Beans, to support innovation and entrepreneurship.

The laboratories in Alfond Center include materials engineering, human-data interaction labs, and biology-focused wet labs.

The $500 million project will be completed in 2027.
