We are thrilled to announced Rainey Hufstetler, AIA, LEED AP, has joined our Atlanta office as a lab planner/programmer. Rainey comes to HERA with more than 15 years of experience in high containment design. Over her career she has focused primarily on large academic and government biocontainment research facilities. Within containment, she is the go-to person for integrating imaging systems within high containment. She has successfully designed integrated clinical and research imaging systems for use in both BSL-3 and BSL-4 biocontainment laboratories.
Rainey is a registered architect in the State of Georgia, and has presented and written for a wide range of audiences. She has been a speaker at both Labs 21 (now I2SL) and the CDC Symposium on Biosafety, a contributor to the 2008 NIH Design Guidelines, author of the 2016 CDC High Containment and Vivarium Design Guidelines and author of “Do Less, With Less. Get More: Navigating the Regulatory Landscape + Addressing Risk ‘Glocally’” in 2015.
