Helix Center Biotech Incubator
The Helix Center is a small business incubator supporting the growth of early-stage plant and life science start-up companies by providing affordable office and laboratory space, access to expertise, and a strong family of facilities with nearby Donald Danforth Plant Science Center and Bio-Research and Development Growth (BRDG) Park.
An existing 47,000-square-foot office building was renovated to provide 35,000 square feet of space for the Center and includes the following features:
- Office and conference/meeting space
- 12 wet labs (initial build-out) plus 4 wet/dry labs (future build-out)
- Additional dry/specialized instrument lab space on first floor (future build-out)
- Laboratory support space – tissue culture suite, glass wash room, freezer farm, heavy/vibration-producing equipment room, storage
- Locker room and shower with bicycle storage
- Existing tenant to remain on first floor (maintained in operation during construction)
