Chloride Fiber Laboratory Renovation
The chloride fiber, chemistry and cellulose production labs currently reside on opposite ends of a 100,000-sf long, narrow building. The new, modern, flexible lab space will allow for lean workflow, and provide future expansion capabilities for production.
IDEXX is renovating a central location within the facility to co-locate the labs to improve work environment and increase operational efficiency. The co-location will stop the transport chemicals across the building between labs, creating a safer environment.
The design incorporates a zoning strategy to encourage a flow to keep areas of chemical usage at the rear of the facility, better isolating office personnel from potential exposure. The zoning strategy also will allow for access control to the labs, limiting entrance to designated personnel.
The labs will remain in operation throughout the renovation.
