The DDPSC is a consortium of institutions conducting research to enhance the nutritional content of plants to improve human health, increase agricultural production, and provide the scientific ideas and technologies that will contribute to the economic growth of the region. The interdisciplinary research labs house equipment for protein crystallography, proteomics and mass spectrometry, microscopy and imaging of live cells, cell and tissue culture, and the control and maintenance of plants. Within the facility there are 20,000 total gsf of highly automated greenhouses and 16 walk-in and 40 reach-in environmentally-controlled growth chambers.
