Lakeland Community College
Health Technologies Building Expansion/Renovation
Kirtland, Ohio

The Health Technologies Building Expansion/Renovation reconfigures and modernizes 52,000 SF of existing applied health technology space and expands the footprint by 75,000 SF. The additional space will allow Lakeland to provide simulation, allied health and laboratory spaces, as well as 13 additional classrooms.

The new 75,000 SF will include dental radiology, sterilization and operatories; an emergency department; outpatient home and rehabilitative care; occupational and physical therapy; nursing skills; simulation practice labs (OB, Adult Sim and Pediatric); dialysis; respiratory therapy; surgical tech and trauma; clean core and sterilization; and radiology. A Health Information Systems Lab is also being designed. Additional laboratory spaces include histology and medical technologies.

In partnership with local health systems, the project also will provide space for a new outpatient clinic that serves the community.

Using many forward-thinking energy saving technologies, the project is tracking LEED Gold certification.
